As Head of Education at Digicape, Wihan works with schools across South Africa to support digital transformation, professional learning, leadership development and the effective integration of emerging technologies.
Having progressed from classroom teacher to Head of Innovation at Rustenburg Girls' High School, Wihan has spent more than a decade helping educators and school leaders navigate meaningful change. His work has focused on developing sustainable technology strategies, building staff capability and creating learning environments where technology enhances teaching and learning outcomes.
A former Apple Professional Learning Specialist (2018-2024), Wihan facilitated professional learning workshops, coached educators and school leaders, and supported schools in developing and implementing successful 1:1 learning initiatives. He has trained hundreds of educators and contributed to the successful adoption of iPad programmes in multiple schools.
In 2024, Wihan joined Proco as Engagement Lead, where he gained valuable experience in educational procurement, contract management, stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships. This broadened his understanding of the operational and commercial realities facing schools and strengthened his ability to support leadership teams in making informed technology and infrastructure decisions.
Today, as Head of Education at Digicape, Wihan works with independent and public schools, leadership teams, IT departments and educators to develop practical and sustainable approaches to innovation. His work combines professional learning, strategic planning, change management and emerging technologies to help schools prepare for the future of learning.
Prior to his career in education, Wihan spent almost a decade as a professional rugby player. The leadership, coaching, resilience and performance principles developed during this time continue to shape his approach to education, professional learning and organisational change.
